Paper waste is a never-ending horror of cascading material found in your mailbox, offices, schools, and eventually landfills 😱. So, it makes a ton of sense for hand papermakers and artists to turn paper scrap waste into paper pulp, and use it for pulp paintings, glorious handmade papers, fancy-pants furniture, and lots more.

These are 9 hand papermakers and artists who are doing stellar work with recycled papermaking, that I thought you’d be inspired by. It’s a mix of visual artists, small businesses, and designers who all have their own one-of-a-kind take on how they magically transform paper waste into the beacon lights of joy we all need more of, i.e., creative handmade papers 😂.
